Working Ranch Cowboy Association

In March of 1995, a group of people from across the western United States created the Working Ranch Cowboys Association. WRCA produces the World Championship Ranch Rodeo as a means to showcase the skills of the working ranch cowboy and to raise funds for the WRCA Foundation.

The Citadelle Art Foundation

This old Canadian landmark was built in 1910 as the First Baptist Church. In 1977, the Abraham family purchased the building and converted it into their family residence. After 30 years of serving as their home, the Abrahams have now donated the mansion, the art, and the gardens as a public art museum, known as The Citadelle Art Foundation, to help share their blessings with generations to come.

George W. Bush Childhood Home

Bush Childhood Home, Inc., is to express and interpret the history of one of America’s great families by telling the story of the Bush Family and the childhood of George W. Bush in Midland, Texas, and celebrating the lives of two presidents, two governors, and two first ladies. The Bush Childhood Home at 1412 W. Ohio Avenue is approximately 1400 square feet and largely unchanged since 1956.

Lea County Museum

The county seat of Lea, Lovington became town in 1908 when settlers from east of the Texas line homesteaded the western edges of the Llano Estacado in New Mexico Territory. New Mexico became a state in 1912. Lea became a county in 1917. The Lea County Museum was created by the Lovington Women's Club in 1960 when they purchased the Commercial Hotel, which was to be razed.

Old Post Office Museum and Art Center

Comanche Historical Museum

Heart of Texas Historical Museum

Considered "one of the best small town museums in Texas", the Heart of Texas Historical Museum is located in the old McCulloch County Jail, just west of the courthouse square. The structure is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark. The museum is home to the restored Curtis Field air control tower that was used for pilot training during the Second World War.

Historic Comanche Depot

Once a busy depot on the Ft. Worth to Brownwood was built around 1890. It saw continual use until 1950 where it fell into disrepair. Once given to the city it was used as a storage facility. Recently it has been restored and is in beautiful condition. Come by and envision what it was like to stand on the platform like our ancestors did over 100 years ago.
