The Whitehead Memorial Museum was established in 1962 and remains the only full time, public museum in Val Verde County, Texas. The mission of the Whitehead Memorial Museum is to preserve historical and tangible artifacts that reflect the early history, cultures, and economics of Del Rio and Val Verde County. The purpose shall be to promote through the establishment and maintenance of a public museum and allied projects; a program which will bring about better understanding and appreciation.

In March of 1995, a group of people from across the western United States created the Working Ranch Cowboys Association. WRCA produces the World Championship Ranch Rodeo as a means to showcase the skills of the working ranch cowboy and to raise funds for the WRCA Foundation.

The Carson County Square House Museum has promoted the regional history for 46 years. The Duggan House Museum is located in one of the first homes built in Littlefield. In 2012 it will be 100 years old. We promote Littlefield, Lamb County and Waylon Jennings. We celebrate Littlefield because without Maj. Geo W. Littlefield we would not have a town, and Lamb County because it is one of the richest farming lands in Texas, and Waylon Jennings because he was born here and never forgot his roots.
